Position Summary:

Are you ambitious, organized, and solution-focused?  We are a fast-growing IT Support company in need of an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in providing exceptional IT services to small and medium-sized businesses throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Southern New Hampshire.  Our NOC Engineer is responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of our centralized toolsets and network solutions, including our RMM (Remote Monitoring & Management) software, customer-facing cloud environments/solutions, server backups and providing technical assistance to team members with system and scripting requests.  The NOC Engineer is also responsible for managing security patching, and antivirus software deployment, monitoring and maintenance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • IT Support relating to issues with the internal systems and network infrastructure

  • Serving as an escalation point for Net Admin tickets.

  • Support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server and Workstation, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc.

  • Scripting, pushing new software, new LabTech versions/updates, testing new software, etc.

  • Support services for virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft Technical services and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security

  • Collaborate with team to assess process improvement opportunities, assess tools, etc. to improve Support operations.

  • Working cross departmentally with managers and leaders.

  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.

  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

  • Manage the remote monitoring and management system to ensure consistency and accurate reporting of customer device.

  • Managing monthly patching (including patch approvals and testing).

  • Follow up on failed patches.

  • BDR and AV monitoring and maintenance backup monitoring takes 30-60 minutes daily and up to 8 hours resolving any issues including follow up with Infrascale.

  • Software upgrades.

  • Scripting – experience and knowledge of scripting is more important than the specific tools.

  • Freedom for technical creativity.

  • Ability to troubleshoot/act as escalation point for technical questions.

  • Documentation of all processes used and updates to those processes.

  • Approving patching.


Technical Requirements:

  • Experience with Network Administration.

  • Experience with scripting.

  • Developing scripts to automate software installs, desktop cleanup and Office 365 Management.

  • Experience with BDR (backup and disaster recovery).

  • Spade uses DataSAFE (This is our Spade branded solution, Infrascale is what we use and if someone has experience with backups, the specific solution is not that important).

  • Experience with RMM Tool.

  • Labtech scripting (highly preferred).

  • Experience administrating Microsoft Windows Server; account management, password resets, and file management.

  • Hands on experience with virus, spyware, and malware removal.

  • Basic network troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience with reporting.

  • Maintaining automated antivirus/antimalware.

  • Active Directory/Group Policy.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience supporting networks for small to mid-sized businesses

  • Experience working for a Managed Service Provider

  • Experience with LabTech

  • Centralized software deployment (highly preferred; specific tool is less important than the general skill/experience)
